RONAN MORRISSEY

Molded by the identity crisis that comes with growing up in a Chicago suburb, Ronan’s passion for writing and directing spawned from the desire to tell stories that feature unconventional heroes - and showcase the absurdity of everyday life.

His short documentary "Masterpieces" marked its festival debut as an Official Selection at the 2023 Chicago Irish Film Festival and has gone on to screen at NFFTY 2023 (National Film Festival for Talented Youth), The Midwest Film Festival, the Chicago On Screen film showcase, and The 30th International Convention of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers.

He’s also the Executive Producer for the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards, leading him to write and produce alongside acclaimed actors, writers, and comedians such as Sultan Salahuddin II (star and co-creator of HBO's South Side), Godfrey and most recently Chris Witaske (from FX's hit series The Bear).

Ronan is a Board of Governor of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Chicago/Midwest Chapter. He's the Co-Chair of the Emmy Production Committee and serves on the Outreach/Workshops Committee which are tasked with creating initiatives to help grow the chapter and foster the careers of young professionals in the Television and broader media industry.

Outside of his film work, you can find Ronan dabbling in slide guitar.
